How to get past the... 'creative block'!

Srorm makes her mark!

Making that mark!
It has been quite a while since I painted. Well, back in 2020 when I did my Cert 3 in Visual Arts to be honest. But a month or so ago now I went and got my paints and bushes and some canvasses out of storage and have allowed myself to get back into the habit of - mark-making!
But like with many other creative fields; a blank canvas, a blank page for writers, a lump of clay for sculptors, sometimes, we have no idea how we want to start. Writer's block, painters block, 'CREATIVE BLOCK! Our fresh clean, untouched, unmarked, tools of the trade, sit and wait, while we stare at them - lots. Void of inspiration?
After visiting me a couple times over the past few days, my daughter, kept looking at this set-up ready-to-go unmarked canvas ... "When are you gonna start on that mama!"
The canvas is prepped, and dry and ready to go, so other than a complete block, there is no valid excuse. :) If you read a previous studio post you will see that I housesit, so don't have a dedicated 'studio area' to set up. The easel is front and centre between lounge and diningareas (on tiles :) ) so it's pure white blankness, cannot be missed. Even by me each day when I walk down the hallway and view it, and go ... "today!" "Today is the day I begin!" :D
I replied, "I just arent sure where to start."
No problems. She grabbed a brush, popped some yellow paint on the end and ... left me with this.
"There. Now. It's started, get working on it."
Well, I can't argue with that, right.
