Why every photographer needs a strong community - and why I joined the PPBN
For around twelve months, I have followed the Professional Photography Business Network (PPBN) Facebook group without actually becoming a member. Like many photographers, I was happy to sit on the sidelines, reading the posts, picking up the occasional business tip, and watching the conversations unfold. Even from the outside, I could see there was a wealth of knowledge being shared. Members were asking questions, celebrating successes, discussing pricing, marketing, client experiences, and helping each other navigate the many challenges of running a photography business. I thought I was getting the best of both worlds by enjoying the free content. Then I finally decided to join. Looking back now, I honestly wish I'd joined from the very beginning. What I hadn't realised was just how much value existed beyond the Facebook group. The training, resources, business education, networking opportunities, and access to experienced photographers inside PPBN far exceeded what I had been seeing from the outside. Instead of simply reading the occasional tip, I became part of a community that genuinely wants every member to succeed. Running a photography business is about so much more than creating beautiful images. It's about wearing a dozen different hats - photographer, marketer, accountant, website designer, social media manager, salesperson, and sometimes even IT support! While photography is often a solo profession, building a successful business doesn't have to be. That's one of the reasons I joined the Professional Photography Business Network (PPBN). What is PPBN? The Professional Photography Business Network is an online community created specifically for photographers who want to grow their businesses, improve their skills, and connect with like-minded professionals. Whether you're just starting your photography journey or you've been in business for years, PPBN provides practical education, encouragement, and a supportive community that genuinely wants to see you succeed. Inside the network you'll find resources covering topics such as:
One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the years is that you don't have to figure everything out on your own. Why I Joined Photography has taken me on some incredible adventures - from travelling Australia in my campervan to photographing stunning landscapes, teaching workshops, and creating fine art images. But no matter how much experience we have, there is always something new to learn. I joined PPBN because I wanted to continue growing - not just as a photographer, but as a business owner. Having access to experienced photographers, business education, and a supportive community means I can continue improving the experience I offer my clients while building a stronger, more sustainable business. It's refreshing to be part of a community where members celebrate each other's successes, offer genuine advice, and understand the unique challenges photographers face. Why Community Matters The photography industry can sometimes feel competitive, but communities like PPBN remind us that collaboration is often far more valuable than competition. Learning from others can help you:
Sometimes one conversation or one training session can completely change the direction of your business. Thinking About Joining? If you've been looking for a supportive photography community that focuses on both creativity and business growth, PPBN is definitely worth exploring. If you decide to join and fantastic community of photographers, I'd really appreciate it if you used my PPBN referral code when signing up. It doesn't cost you anything extra. And, you will get 7 days free trial first, to explore the content and make sure it's right for you! Thank you if you choose to use it - it genuinely means a lot. Final Thoughts Photography isn't just about the images we create; it's about the people we meet, the stories we tell, and the businesses we build along the way. Joining PPBN is another step in my own journey of learning, growing, and continuing to provide the very best experience for my clients and workshop participants. If you're serious about taking your photography business to the next level, I hope to see you inside the PPBN community. Here's to learning together, growing together, and creating amazing things.
