‘breathing dreams’
Influenced greatly by the dreamlike works of artist William Turner, known as ‘the painter of light’, I've been mesmerised by capturing the equally atmospheric emotion of a moment, rather than a physical object.
Replacing oils and watercolours, I employed the use of in-camera, long exposure as the paintbrush. And drawn by the deep, beautiful colours of the ocean and landscapes, my goal was to take the art of the abstract to another level, with natural man-made forms and undefined textures creating the backdrop.
The velvet smooth fluidity of shapes and lines create an interesting altered perception and perspective, a complete sense of harmony created by the visual movement.
This body of work has a dream-like quality that leaves you speculating on the detail, a creative and expressive way to capture both light and shadow.
