Sunset at the Bluff

So, this image was a Top 12 finalist entry - 'Colours of the Landscape' for Progress Printing.

A gorgeous sunset taken at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat at the Gold Coast. Happy to be amongst the 12 photographer's chosen. There are some AMAZING images! All of them (us) will have a month on the calendar.
But it was opened up to a people choice vote for the grand winner who gets the front cover and, the grand prize! Part of the prize is an esky which i really really need, so, even though my people pool is small, I popped it on my facebook and insta and hoped I might get some votes. I know a couple of the other photographer's and they have thousands of followers so I didn't hold my breath.

The 12 final images
So imagine my surprise a couple days ago when I opened my email to .......

" Congratulations on being awarded the grand prize winner of the 2024 'Colours of the Landscape' Calendar "

Well, that's a message anyone loves to receive!
So against amazing photographers and images amongst this final 12, and many with much bigger audiences than I have, I am blown away to WIN.
Can I say a huge thanks to those that went and voted for my image. Sometimes 'the tortoise' wins eh
