With an hour to spare in the Daintree before the ferry arrived, an unplanned turnoff gave the sight of a lifetime. This cassowary pair wandering on the road, holding up two cars already heading out, then us, heading inwards. For the next 15 minutes, we sat, in awe, watching till eventually they wandered back into the bush. An experience all of us occupying the three cars will never forget.
